Above the Flood

The path is for the one who believed.

The rain had not yet come, but he built anyway — a great ark on dry land, while the world around him laughed. They saw a madman building a ship where there was no sea. Prophet Nuh (AS) saw what was coming.

Made on deep-navy heavyweight fabric with a cream collar, and an original Arabic phrase embroidered at the back. Hand-embroidered to order.

Every stitch, a narration.

ABOVE THE FLOOD. HE BUILT WHILE THEY SLEPT

Above the Flood was built for the ones who prepare while the world looks away. Prophet Nuh (AS) built his ark on dry land as everyone laughed — a ship where there was no sea. On one side, the ark waits as the first waters rise; on the other, a village stands unaware as the wave gathers behind it. A piece about faith, foresight, and standing on the right side of the water. Not a logo. Not a graphic. A garment that knows where it came from — and a quiet signal to everyone who saw it coming too.

What's the story behind the design? +

Above the Flood draws from the story of Prophet Nuh (Noah, AS) and the great flood. He built his ark on dry land as his people mocked him — a ship where there was no sea. On one side, his nearly finished ark rests near the shore as the waters begin to rise; on the other, a village stands unaware as the wave gathers behind it — the two fates divided by the zipper between them. A piece about preparing while the world sleeps — about which side of the water you choose to be on.

Is the Arabic text a Quranic verse? +

No. Out of respect, Riwaya never places Quranic verses or hadith on any garment. Any Arabic on our pieces is an original phrase written for the brand. Our storytelling is carried through embroidered scenes and original words never sacred scripture worn on the body.

Is the embroidery heavy or does it affect comfort? +

The wave embroidery is dense and richly textured, which gives the piece its weight and presence. It's distributed across the front so the jacket stays comfortable to wear. Expect a substantial, structured feel this is a garment built to be worn for years, not a lightweight graphic piece.
